Barely does what its supposed to do
The 3.9 update and the launch of Comixology Unlimited (CU) have ruined what *was* a decent comics reader. I never minded that they removed the ability to buy individual issues through the app, and I understood the reasoning behind that decision way back when. But at least they were nice enough to redesign the app to account for that. It *was* a fast, lightweight reader that focused on the books youd already bought and downloaded.
Unfortunately, theyre pushing CU hard now, and the focus is back on all of that old storefront crap -- the "Discover" and "Search" tabs -- even though its useless to anyone without a CU subscription. Your own books have been pushed to the back, requiring extra clicks to do what you actually want to do.
Even worse, *because* the focus is on the storefront, the entire app has become a buggy resource hog as it continuously refreshes all of the storefront images and data. Crashes are routine now.
Ive sunk many hundreds of dollars into Comixology, picking up the series I enjoyed as a kid. I regret all of that now.
